John has founded and grown two award winning, successful IT businesses from scratch that were sold in 2000 and 2018. His first business was started at age 26 and he has been involved in the Washington metro area's entrepreneurial community ever since. He was James Madison University’s first Entrepreneur-in-Residence. He founded and chaired the Advisory Council for the JMU Center for Entrepreneurship and co-created and co-taught a popular undergraduate entrepreneurship class, Venture Creation. John is currently a member of the JMU Board of Visitors and the state of Virginia’s Online Virginia Network Authority.
